RiverView Health, together with The Arc United, held a Walk for Autism on April 10th in an effort to raise awareness and funds for area families who have a child with Autism. Over 100 people participated in the walk, which raised just under $4,000. All funds raised from the Walk for Autism will remain in Polk County to provide education and training opportunities as well as other events related to Autism awareness.
An estimated 1 in 91 children will be diagnosed with this complex neurological condition that affects brain development, cognition, and how they relate to people and surroundings.
While the cause of Autism is still unknown, progress is being made on effective treatments to cope with its many challenges.

Event co-chair Andrea Reynolds took a moment to thank the premiere sponsors of the event: KROX Radio, New Horizon Foods, University of Minnesota Crookston, and Ye Ole Print Shoppe.

Face painting and games were available before the Walk got underway.
