RiverView Foundation Announces Scholarship Winner - 5/31/2010
RiverView Foundation is pleased to announce Jennifer Coauette has been awarded a $1,000 Bishop Afonya Healthcare Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Coauette is currently an LPN in the Emergency Department and is working towards becoming an RN. She plans to continue her education until she receives a Bachelor of Nursing degree.
In honor and memory of his father, Bishop Afonya, Dr. Idatonye I. Afonya established through the RiverView Health Foundation, the Bishop Afonya Healthcare Scholarship Program. Bishop Afonya Education Scholarships will be offered annually to qualified individuals within RiverView Health’s primary service area pursuing post secondary or higher education and career advancement in healthcare.
Dr. Idatonye Afonya is a board certified general surgeon and has been a valued member of the medical staff at RiverView since 1994. “RiverView Foundation is very proud to provide this healthcare scholarship in Bishop Afonya’s name,” said Kent Bruun, Foundation Director.
